PETER A.C. TAYLOR
VP & HEAD OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS
Peter A.C. Taylor is an Attorney at Law by profession. He is also the holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons.) from the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine, Trinidad which he attained in 1989.
He is experienced in both Civil and Criminal Litigation and his main areas of practice are Public Law, Breach of Contract, Defamation, Conveyancing and Tort.
Versed in both Spanish and French, Taylor taught Social Studies and Spanish for three years at the Leon Hess Secondary School in Castries, St. Lucia between 1992 to 1995 before going to London England to read for his Bachelor of Laws Degree at Holborn College of Law which he earned in 1997 with Honours.
He returned to Trinidad in 1999 to complete the two year Programme at the Hugh Wooding Law School before being called to the Bar in 2001.
A freelance journalist with the Trinidad Guardian since 2003, Taylor compiled the articles he wrote between 2003 to 2010 into a book entitled “Flirting with Destiny” which he published in December 2010.
Between November 2007-May 2010, Taylor served as a Cabinet Minister and Minister of Legal Affairs and Member of Parliament for the Constituency of Moruga/Tableland under the Peoples National Government (PNM) Government led by then Prime Minister the late Patrick Manning during which time he was also appointed to act in various other Ministerial capacities including that of Attorney General.
In March 2011, he was invited to participate in the Georgetown Leadership Seminar, at Georgetown University, Washington D.C.an annual by invitation only event that seeks to promote dialogue among emerging world leaders.
