ROSEALINE GORDONDIRECTOR OF COMMERCIAL OPERATIONSRosealine Gordon, affectionately known as Roz, an accomplished International Business Coach and Mentor, joined Africa Sports Venture Group in November 2019, as the Director for Commercial Operations.
Roz Gordon’s years of experience in the Business and Community Investments sector, resulted in her attendance at the House of Commons and extensive work with Community Advocates and Dignitaries such as Ian Duncan-Smith MP, Cherry Blair (wife of a former Prime Minister), Boris Johnson (Current Prime Minister and ex-Mayor of London – as a panel member of a Community Conversation), Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon and Dame Helen Ghosh (Home Office Permanent Secretary). Her interest in Social Sciences and Community Cohesiveness resulted in a BA Hons in Business Studies majoring in Human Resources; with continued studies in Public and Community Services at the Postgraduate Level and certified Careers Coaching. And so, she has devoted her time to working with communities with a profile of deprivation. The focus has been to support these communities in embracing self/personal development, skill enhancement, crime reduction, educational achievement – with a knowledge that increasing individual or personal value directly impacts communities. For more than 21 years, Roz has been a member of various organisational boards and worked with leaders at every level in the community, such as Community Links and the Metropolitan Police; developing and implementing strategies to increase opportunities for employment, education and gang reduction. Strategic partnership arrangements stand at the forefront of her success having supported the development of various consortiums to access Local, Government and European funding ranging from smalls sums to millions of pounds and then successfully delivering the designated programmes. As Head of Community Investment for one of the larger Housing Associations, she galvanised Corporate entities for Community Development. She has been instrumental in the design and deployment of nationally recognised systems for community transformation. Roz is a proponent of the phrase “It Takes a Village,” believing that change starts with one -- one person or an individual's self-perception -- their self-worth, their ability to build and live their dream accordingly, no job is too large, small or beneath her. Roz understands first-hand the importance of community investments, be it human or financial capital – through, among other things, volunteering or fundraising. The skills developed over the years have contributed to her most recent venture which saw the launch of her Business ‘Visions of RefleXion’, a company devoted to delivering Leadership and Business Development programmes; supporting businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals to devise strategies for growth and professionalism. The services include leveraging designing, drafting and consulting on Strategies, Policies and Procedures, Business Plan, Operational and Procedural Manuals, and Auditing Services. Roz’s spiritual conviction has steered her desire to spearhead and/or contribute to these programmes resulting in deliveries of workshops and presentations in the UK, Jamaica and Ghana during 2016 -2018 on Godly Leadership; the understanding being that there are certain standards which must be included in every aspect of Leadership – honesty, integrity and openness – thereby facilitating strong, sustainable and effective communities. Roz has earned the respect of the communities she serves, and looks forward to continued service. |
