Houston, Texas, USA, June 12th, 2024: Africa Sports Ventures Group announces Footballer Ademola Lookman of Nigeria and Atalanta BC Football Club as the May 2024 African Athlete of the Month.

Chosen through a selection process involving global fans on the ASVG WhatsApp Channel, Lookman was voted ahead of Manchester United’s Andre Onana, Nigerian Table Tennis Player Aruna Quadri, and Ghanaian Amputee Footballer Mubarak Mohammed.

Ademola Lookman was recognized for his exceptional performance at the UEFA Europa Finals, where he scored a hat-trick against the previously unbeaten German Club Leverkusen. His standout performance captivated fans as he single-handedly dominated the game, securing victory for Atalanta BC and breaking Leverkusen's winning streak.

The African Athlete of the Month Award celebrates the achievements of African athletes, encouraging them to strive for excellence and acknowledging their impact on the global sports stage.


This accolade involves a public voting process from the 1st to the 10th of each month, with the winner announced on the 11th based on both public votes and internal criteria.
