AMINATA RADIa SEIMEMBER - BOARD OF DIRECTORSA graduate of the Anderson Schools of Management, University of New Mexico. Mimi is a Sierra-Leonean born writer, currently working on a creative nonfiction account of her lived experiences in Africa, America, and Asia. She serves as Trustee and President of the Parent Faculty Association at Catlin Gabel School in Portland, Oregon. She is former President of the Parent School Partnership of the Dalian American International School, in Dalian, China. She is one half of the parenting duo for three well-accomplished scholar athletes- a four-time Oregon State Champion in track and field who now runs for Yale University, a state champion contending Shot Put and Discus thrower and Football player, and an equally accomplished daughter and Middle School athlete. Mimi has dedicated years of service to track teams and general athletics in her community.Giving back to her native Sierra Leone is also of keen interest. She is a Board Member of Surge and Restore a Portland-based, charitable organization that provides logistics and training for anesthesiology, plastic surgery, and burn-center medical personnel in Sierra Leone. Ever present in her mind is the significant disparity in standards of living between global north and south countries, and she is committed to bridging these gaps. She is passionate about Inclusion and Equity efforts, especially at educational institutions and is vested in creating safe and welcome spaces to facilitate insightful dialogue and exchange. She is an avid reader, a lover of music and all things African.
